In the Municipal Library of Prague (MKP), Opencard can be used in much the same way as the current library card.
The card enables you to make book reservations, to borrow books, to access the internet, internet databases and other services. You can currently use the card in all automated branches of MKP; as of 2008 you will also be able to use it in MKP’s mobile library vans. Holders of Opencard can use discounts for events organised by MKP, and they will also be able to use the card in the newly built digital library.
If you apply for Opencard in the Municipal Library of Prague between 1st September and 31st October, you will obtain a free library card with one year validity.
