How to use Opencard as library card?
If you are already enrolled in a library, just go to your branch and inform them that you want to use Opencard as a library card. Librarians will transfer your current library card details on to Opencard.
If you are not enrolled in a library yet and would like to become a member, just visit any branch of Municipal Library of Prague and ask for the Library service to be activated. You will need your ID and CZK 80. Registration via Opencard in National Technical Library is similarly easy; for detailed instructions, visit the National Technical Library website.
How will the transfer of your library card on to Opencard affect you?
The change will affect just the number of your library card. The password which was part of your original library card and that you used to log into the library system will remain unchanged. Your library account and Koniáš system setting will be fully transferred to Opencard.
ATTENTION: You can’t cover library fees with Opencard (reservation fees, yearly library fees or fines).
