Children between 6 and 10 will not have to claim they are entitled for free fare by Opencard as of 1st February 2012 as originally announced.
September 24th, 2011 Children and Juniors Can Make Use of Temporary Tickets
As of 1st September, children and juniors must have an Opencard if they want to purchase a Public Transport voucher. Those who haven’t applied yet will not receive it by the beginning of school year. Fortunately, they can make use of temporary monthly tickets.

November 12th, 2010 End of Paper Vouchers!
The sale of paper monthly and quarterly Adult and Senior (between 60 and 70 years old) vouchers has finished on Saturday 13th November 2010.
November 10, 2010 Children and Seniors Can Also Use Opencard as Proof of Age!
As of Saturday 13th November 2010, children between 10 and 15 years and seniors from 60 to 70 years can download the corresponding tariff category on their Opencard which can be used to prove their age when using discounted fares.
October 15th, 2010 Prague Integrated Transport Paper Vouchers for Adults and Seniors Will Finish
On 14th November the sale of Adult and Senior paper vouchers for P zone ceases, which means that only Opencard electronic vouchers will be available for this zone. This doesn’t concern suburban zones through which passengers can still travel on both paper and electronic vouchers.

As of 13th June 2010, it will only be possible to purchase season tickets for tariff categories ’Children’ (10-15 years) and ’Junior’ (15-19 years) using an Opencard electronic form.
June 1st, 2010 You Can Now Purchase Opencard via Internet
As of now, it is no longer necessary to go to a contact point when applying for Opencard. You can simply apply for the card by going to the Opencard website.
March 26th, 2010 Opencard Expands its Services
The City Council has approved the concept of further Opencard developments. Based on the council’s proposal, the project will be managed by the new subsidiary of Prague Transport Co. The City is counting on the involvement of a bank, with the final product being a card that will become ubiquitous in almost all spheres of city life.
March 5th, 2010 Change to Infoline
As of 1st March 2010, the operating hours of Opencard infoline will be amended. Calls will be answered between Monday and Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
February 24th, 2010 How To Handle Opencard
The card should be handled like every other electronic card. You must avoid bending it, breaking it or other physically damaging it. The card must also not be exposed to temperatures below – 10 °C or higher than 40 °C, or to the damaging effects of alternating electric current or magnetic fields.
February 12th, 2010 Prague City Hall Agreed with Haguess Company on Compromise Solution
Today, Prague City Hall Director Martin Trnka and Director of the Prague Transportation Company Martin Dvořák signed an amendment to the original contracts for the Opencard Project with the company Haguess, a.s. The new conditions set in the amendment will be significantly better for the city as well as for the Transportation Company. The document deals not only with the licence rights but also with financial settlement of previous debts.

As of the beginning of February, four Contact Point outlets that had previously sold Opencard PID voucher have ceased operating.
