If you want to get Opencard at the last minute in order to be able to purchase the yearly voucher (sold until 31st January), you can use Express Issue at contact points in Škoda Palace and Palace Adria in Prague 1.
The contactless Opencard can be issued in about ten minutes for a charge of 400CZK.
Accelerated Complaint – You Need Not Miss Receiving a PID Voucher
“This service can be used by people who already have the card but have made a complaint due to its malfunction or incorrect printing. Providing the complaint is due a fault by the Opencard provider, Express Issue will be free of charge. If the opposite is true, the customer will be charged but will still be able to purchase the yearly PID voucher,” explained Opencard project’s spokesman, Martin Opatrný.
The Express Issue of the card has the same conditions as the ordinary application. You have to complete relevant forms (Opencard Application Form and Agreement with Personal Data Processing), and submit them together with a passport-size photograph and ID.
